Dehydration causes the heart to work harder, because your of low fluid level – thus your blood level is much lower so the heart has to pump harder to move the fluid through your blood vessels.
Generally, you want to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. On days that are hot and humid you want to increase your fluid intake.
