Strategically developing online content helps to ensure a small-business owner's success in both the short and long term.

Article marketing is a smart, comprehensive way to broaden the online presence of your small business enterprise. By posting articles to ezines, directories and newsletters, you can reap benefits ranging from new clients and a solid reputation to increased website traffic and heightened visibility.

At the heart of most successful article marketing is a comprehensive strategy known as Search Engine Optimization, a process through which keyword rich documents are published online to help to improve website traffic. Online marketers using SEO techniques choose a keyword or phrase that people will likely search for when conducting research. They then create relevant, engaging articles throughout which the critical word or phrase is used. Once these documents are posted online, search engines add them to their immense cache of information which helps to strategically drive traffic to selected websites. In addition to keyword rich document publishing, though, a second critical component of an online marketing strategy must include the distribution of a given website's URL. Publishing a website's address at the end of SEO articles will allow interested readers to easily visit the site by clicking on the embedded link.

When executed with quality, a useful article that is correctly formatted and well written, can provide a free way to quickly strengthen your online presence. Seek out a few places to post your articles. There are many free article directories and e-zines that actively request informative articles on any number of given topics. These resources are important allies when developing successful article marketing strategies.

Online article marketing, however, does more than simply heighten your internet visibility. Unlike direct paid advertising, it actually presents an opportunity to educate and assist your customer base. By providing useful resources online, you can make a case that benefits your business while building a reputation as an authoritative and knowledgeable entity. Further, article marketing offers a longer lasting form of promoting your business than does standard advertising alone. Paid ads usually lose potency and relevance over time. But a well-written, useful article will acquire hits and encourage viral marketing for months at a time.

Additionally, article marketing is one of the few forms of promotion that have the potential to reach a large audience without considerable financial investment and it is unique because it empowers you to position a nuanced message prominently in the vast landscape of the web. You can reach customers who you would have no access to you otherwise and the cost is typically measured in time rather than dollars.

Article marketing offers significant numbers of benefits to retailers who choose to engage in the strategic method of search engine optimization. For many small business in particular, it is the best way to use the power of the internet to bring prospective clients to your door. Importantly, the most successful marketing campaigns understand that quality, content and keyword relevancy are critical components of good marketing. Therefore, investing the time to ensure you develop great ideas, witty content and informative articles will help you reap the greatest benefit of article marketing in both the short and long term.

Working at home can be a challenge but making use of article marketing as a form of internet marketing can make your job a whole lot easier. If you have a website and want to bring more traffic to your site then one way to make this happen is to write articles relevant to the subject of your business and then submit these articles to article directories over the web that are free. People searching for free content will then take your articles and use them at their site and this means you get free publicity for your work at home business.

In this case your articles can be reproduced a number of times which is good news for your developing business. Be aware too that often article directories are connected to other free article directories so your articles could end up on many websites. Your articles will feature resource boxes at the bottom that includes information about the author and also a link back to the author's site. Here is where you can write about your business. If your articles are interesting, informative and even entertaining and sometimes amusing you will send traffic in the direction you want it- to your website and to the products and services you offer.

Both quantity of the articles you write as well as quality is important. The more articles you write and submit the more you expose yourself to potential customers. The quality of your articles matters too. Write well and write in a manner that appeals to the reader. Do not write about your business per se but write in an enlightening, appealing manner that shows you know what you are talking about and have something to offer your readers. Focus on them, not yourself or your business and you will generate the greatest amount of interest.

Write articles that speak to an audience of ordinary people and do not get too wordy. Write with authority but write in an easy to understand and easy to follow manner. Make sure your articles are not too long and don't use too many adverbs or adjectives and avoid big, complicated words. Be very careful about your spelling and punctuation. Make sure you write in a professional way that demonstrates that you know what you are talking about. If you choose a topic that you only know a little about then do plenty of research before you write the article.

It is a good idea to use keywords in your articles because this makes it easier for people interested in your articles to find them. Also use headings and lists if possible because when reading over the internet people often scan the page to find exactly what they are looking for.

Article marketing is an ideal way to improve your website traffic without expending too much energy. All you need do is to write a few decent articles, and your traffic will increase significantly.

The writing must be relevant to the topic or niche of your website, or at least the page that you intend to direct traffic towards. That is one tremendous advantage that article marketing has over most other traffic building programs: you can direct the traffic to whatever page on your site you wish.

This is done by means of your author's resource box, that is an area set aside by most article directories for a few words about yourself and a link or two back to your website. That link need not be only to your home page, but can be to any page on your site that you choose. The page you choose, however, must be relevant to the article you have written. You don't send a reader to a page on octopi if you have just written an article about giant squid or turtles.

One mistake that many authors make is to fail to understand what is allowed in the resource box, sometimes called a bio. Some allow HTML and others don't. Some allow links and others don't. If you are not allowed a link to your site then there is little point in providing a directory with a free article. Don't use these sites, and there are several of those that I have come across. Some directories do not provide a resource box, but allow you to add a few words with your url at the end of the article.

It doesn't matter, as long as you are allowed to provide a link back to your website. You then get a one way link to your site, but even better in many cases, you also get traffic from people that like your writing and click on your link to visit your website for more information. Depending on the topic of your article, and how you submit it, that can be a massive short-term jump, or a steady stream over a longer period. The ideal is a combination of each, but that depends on your submission strategy and how many versions of your article you submit.

The versions matter, because if you can produce a few versions and submit different versions to different groups of directories, then you will get better results. That is because after a while, the search engines will begin to detect that a number of article directories, and other websites, have the same content (your article). They will then begin to drop some of these from their listings as being less relevant, and this will continue theoretically until there is only one directory or site with your article on it.

So make the best of it and submit it to as many article directories as possible for a quick burst of traffic, then write others to keep it going. Rather than write four versions of your article for four sets of different search engines, you are better writing four articles, each to be sent to all the search engines. That works better because I have tested it.

Article marketing can be used to increase your website traffic, but you can maximise that increase if you use the directories and your articles intelligently.

Article Marketing And Search Engine Optimization

Article Marketing And Search Engine Optimization

It has become increasingly difficult to get to the top of the major search engines in recent years as the likes of Google and Yahoo! have changed their criteria for how they rank websites. Many old techniques such as metatags and reciprocal links have lost their effectiveness. However, despite these changes, article submission remains one of the most effective ways to gain incoming links that will boost your website's popularity among the major search engines.

While there are many other aspects to search engine optimization (SEO), article submission can be a cheap and effective way to help you get that coveted spot on the first page of the search engine results for keywords relating to your business.

First let's look at how article marketing works in relation to improving SEO. Basically, every time a link to your website is published on another website your popularity with the search engines increases. These are known as backlinks. In every marketing article you submit to an article directory you can include a resource box with information about you or your product, and a backlink to your website.

So, even just by submitting to article directories you are already increasing the number of backlinks to your website. However, the real value from submitting these articles is that they can be picked up and published anywhere on the web. Every time an article is published you get another backlink to your website. If your articles are published enough times you could see your search engine page ranking rocket. Bear in mind though, that the effectiveness of your campaign will depend on where the articles appear. A backlink from a website that itself has a high search engine page ranking will carry more weight than a backlink from a site with a poor ranking.

Keywords vs quality

Carefully choosing keywords is an essential part of article marketing for a number of reasons. First, you want your articles to be easily found in article directories. If they remain buried under similar articles they will never be published on other websites and your efforts will have been wasted.

Also, you want your articles to get good results on the search engines themselves. If your articles find their way onto the front pages of the search engines you will increase exposure to your website or product, and increase your reputation as an article writer.

However, there is more to successful article marketing than keywords. There has been an ongoing difference of opinion among SEO experts as to whether the quality of articles can be sacrificed for the sake of high keyword density within the text. While it is important to put keywords in the text to help with SEO, quality content is king when it comes to article marketing.

The main aim of article marketing is to get your articles published on as many websites as possible. Quality content is at a premium on the internet so if you can provide good articles that people want to read you will be successful. If you stuff your articles with keywords websites will not publish them and readers will rarely read beyond the first paragraph. So, keep keywords to about two per every 100 words of text and do not let them disrupt the flow and the meaning of the article.

Know your neighbor

The most successful article marketers are the ones who gain a reputation as experts in their chosen field, so try to find your niche and work to your strengths. If you write authoratively and enthusiastically about a subject that you know about you are much more likely to attract readers.

If, for example, you have a website that sells Mac software you could write about new releases and trends in this field. However, you could also boost your profile by becoming involved in the general online Mac community by posting on forums or even creating your own blog. These can provide extra opportunities for creating backlinks and driving traffic to your website, and as you become better known in your field you will find your articles will be more used more often and more widely.

New Web 2.0 social bookmarking websites are also giving article marketers new opportunities for improving SEO and increasing traffic to their website. If you come up with an article you think could be very popular on the web you could publish it on your website and submit it to websites like Digg and Reddit. If it gains popularity on these sites it could go viral and bring thousands of hits to your site.

Article marketing offers excellent opportunities to promote your product while improving the SEO of your website. Even if you do not have the time or the will to write articles yourself, you should look into having a freelance writer doing the job for you.

Article Marketing and How It Works

Article Marketing and How It Works

It is an estabilished fact that Article Marketing works by a large number of Internet Marketers in wide variety of niches. This has been repeatedly proven. However, those who have not ever attempted article marketing tend to think that it is harder or more time consuming than it actually is.

Starts by writing an article. This can be done by yourself or you can hire a ghost writer. The cost of ghost written articles is usually less than $10.00 for a 300 to 500 word article. It is important that the article be informative and related to your niche. The article should not sound like a sales letter.

At the end of the article, you include your 'resource box.' A resource box is simply information about the author, and it usually includes a link to the authors related website, a link to subscribe to a newsletter, and possibly even an email address to contact the author. If your article is ghost written, you are still the author.

Underneath the resource box, you type a statement giving others the right to reprint the article for free, as long as they don't change it and keep your resource box attached. This allows others to help make your article viral.

Once the article is written, you should distribute it to as many article directories as you can find. It helps to also send the article to ezine publishers within your niche for consideration. You can find lists of ezines in the various ezine directories that are available on the Internet.

There is article-submission software that can be used to speed up submitting your article in. One example of this type of software is Instant Article Submitter at . There are also services that will manually submit your article to directories. This is highly recommended because many article directories do not allow and will not accept articles submitted with software. One such recommended article submission service is We Submit Articles at:
.

Submitting the articles yourself is a time consuming task. If you can hire someone else to do that work, you will have more time overall to concentrate your efforts on other marketing tasks, including producing more articles.

Article Marketing and Blog Marketing Essentials

Putting everything in perspective, grouping a bunch of words to make up a sensible article or content to be viewed by millions of people over the web has somewhat deteriorated, mostly because people are after revenue rather than knowledge. This has been the practice that has governed a large part of the money making practices that people can expect when they are able to share with other people the gathered information and knowledge that they have accumulated for the past couple of years.
Blogging and content writing has become evidently in demand, but the true sensible things for topics up for consideration that will aid most information hungry people has been totally forgotten. Driving traffic, the proper selection of keywords that people will type in their search engine browsers such as Google and Yahoo, has become the main concern for most Internet accessing individuals. In one of the newsletters that were sent to me regarding Search Engine Optimization, one thing struck me the most that of which is repetition in lieu of content sensibility. It doesn't need to be expounded on, because true enough, this has been the common thing that most people have been doing nowadays, placing a ridiculous amount of similar words in a written article just to come out once a search query from search engines are done.
Blogging as well has become totally bearing no information as well. For one thing, blogs are totally unknown to most people, especially the ones who do not know what this is. For the Internet exposed people, this is similar to making written compositions or article that can cover certain topics or shared experiences by professionals. Some people, who are totally clueless, will not look forward to checking out blogs as well, for the reason that it sounds like something that was made up. For the people who love to investigate and satisfy their curiosity, blogs are something they would consider as a synonym towards article or content writing, freestyle most of the time, allowing people to fully express personal opinions paired with some research on information sites over the World Wide Web. Plagiarism is of course on thing that should be practiced, that of which is avoiding reproducing a certain content, photo or video made by someone. Violating copyrights is the best way to summarize what plagiarism is all about, soliciting the credit in place of the original people who actually poured all their hard work. Although the original content can be used as a reference material, giving due recognition and respect to the original author and creator can totally negate and rule out plagiarism practices.
Content writing on the other hand, is totally putting together what a person knows, stemming from research and experiences. The beauty and essence of effective content writing helps websites, companies and individual branding in a sense, spreading out proper information connected among them. Getting it all together for the proper deliberation of needed information that will definitely be needed by most knowledge seeking individuals, mostly students and business professionals, is something that should be immediately considered.
Hence, article or content writing and blogging is something more than just an adsense trap to generate revenue. A nonsense article will surely be something that people would not waste time reading or referring to. If there is a glitch that Google may have overlooked, it all boils down to quality content from articles done. Most of the time, it requires manual intervention from the groups which use content writing and blogging as their main field of business. However, given time, it will not be surprising when one day, Google or any other SEO Optimizing affiliates and sites will add content quality as among the key aspects of quality made articles in quality handled websites.

Article Marketing 101

By now you certainly have had someone tell you that article marketing is a great way to promote your new website. But what are article directories looking for to approve the publication of your articles?
As the owner of two article directories ( Links are in the footer ) I can tell you what I'm looking for when I review the articles submitted to my article directories.
First of all, please be sure you are submitting original content that you OWN. It's perfectly fine to employ a ghost writer , but make sure that when you pay someone to write your articles that they are unique and that you own complete copyright to the article. If they are selling the same article to hundreds of people I do not want it submitted to my article directories.
ORIGINAL is the keyword that you should place in the front of your mind. There are tons of sites and pieces of software out there today that are scraping content and then using word replacement on someone else's article. Let me be clear about this. It is plagiarism. It is STEALING. Any good copyright lawyer is going to sue you and win if you use these methods to generate articles.
You must actually produce original content to be successful in article marketing. Period.
Another big no-no in my book is 'cut and paste' articles. Do not submit articles that are simply cut and pasted from some other source. I get submissions all the time that are obviously taken from wiki sites, dictionaries, and professional glossaries, and these articles are denied immediately. Every single day someone submits an article to me that contains a 'glossary of terms' for a certain subject. Give me a break. Please submit an actual article.
Once again, produce and submit original content. Period.
Don't try to be sneaky with your articles. This includes writing articles titled 'My article, Part 7' , in the hopes that the surfer will come to your site looking for the rest of the story. I now delete all 'series' titled articles unless the entire series has been submitted to me all at once. I even CREATED a special category for series articles.
Your title is important. Just like a newspaper headline, you are trying to quickly grab the reader's attention. Be short and concise. Be sensational! Be creative! If you have a mile long boring paragraph for a title like "The Technical Wording Of Router Design As Designated By Cisco In Their Corporate Interoffice Memorandum Circa September 2004' or some other long gibberish, I'm going to delete it. Title your article with something that is going to actually get them to read it. They actually have to read the article for your link back to drive traffic to your site. Plus, other webmasters are not going to reprint your article if you don't keep it short and sweet.
There's much, much more that you can consider when marketing your articles, but these are the basics. If you would like to learn more about ethical article marketing I have setup a forum where webmasters are discussing article marketing and more. You are more than welcome to join up and jump right in:
In closing, if you get anything at all from this article, please let it be ethics. Anything you do in business should be moral and ethical. It's you that has to face yourself in the mirror each morning. It's you that has to look your children in the eye. Unethical marketing of any type may pay off in the short term, but will eventually kill your online business in the long run. Stay ethical and create original promotional content. It will take you to the top.
Till next time,

Article Directory Website Design: Understanding the Essential Basics

If you have done any article directory surfing, you have probably noticed all types of article directory designs. You may have run across those that are visually impressive and enjoyable to look at it. They make you stop and ask yourself the following questions: "How can I make an attractive design like that?" Then you have probably run across those site that have inflicted pain onto your eyeballs and you have probably questioned yourself, "How do I avoid that?" So many people do not understand the essential basics to creating a visually pleasing website design. Let us take a look at these four important and basic subjects of design.
*Contrast
Most of us understand the concept of contrast, yet when you look at different website designs, we often see this concept ignored. Contrast needs to be highly considered when creating any type of website. Ultimately, you want the visitor to come in contact with the content and information of the website. Your visitor does not want to have *dig* through your website to find the information for which he or she is looking. If your content is hidden, people will miss the purpose of your website and simply give up trying to find the information or article they need. Reader's eyes want a visible and clear presentation.
To put contrast in exercise, highly and carefully consider the colors you are using for your website design. The type of contrast you are looking for is black text on a white background. While that may seem boring, it is most important that your background contrasts with your text so your text is clearly visible and seen. Another mistake you will often see is the overuse of graphics and images. Use graphics wisely! Too many graphics can clutter your website and make your content buried. A graphic-laden page does not necessarily mean it will be more visually pleasing.
Contrast is a simple and effective way to visually enhance your website. Remember, that you want to bring the content to your reader. You do not want your reader to have todig for it.
*Alignment
The second concept, alignment, is also extremely vital to the website presentation. Good alignment brings about unity and order. Bad alignment brings about chaos and disorder. Knowing that we want to bring content and contextual components to our visitor, we need to present that content in an orderly fashion. The basic principle for alignment is this: do not mix alignment styles. For example, if you have left aligned text, do not create a centered heading. You want your design to flow. That brings us to our next concept, repetition.
*Repetition
While providing your website visitor with clear, visible orderly content, you can also create a stronger sense of unity in the website through repetition. Repetition on a website basically means that you use the same design elements throughout the design. That means you want to use the same logo, graphics, bullets, fonts, and colors. A common misconception by amateur designers is that the more color on the page you have, the more visually pleasing it is. Experience and good judgement show that this is simply not true. Stick to four similar contrasting colors. Stay consistent with your fonts. Stay consistent with your graphics. Repetition will further the sense of the unity in your document.
*Proximity
Proximity ties in with presenting easy-to-find content to your website visitor. Proximity is not a hard principle to follow and it will greatly increase your website's readability. To follow the concept of proximity, put elements together that should be together. For example, if you are talking about a book, you do not want to have the book title at the top of the page, the author at the bottom of the page, and the publisher of the book on a completely different page. To re-emphasize, you want your visitor to find what they are looking for easily. Proximity best assists your viewers in finding exactly what they need, when they need it.
Following these basic design principles will allow you to make a sharp and attractive website. Remember, you want the content to find the visitor. You do not want the visitor to have to dig through the design to find the content that they need. When the content finds the visitor, you want it to be unified, clear, and visible. Exercise these four basic concepts, and you will have yourself a very visually pleasing design.

Article Marketing: 5 Ways To Avoid Rejection

Article marketing is one of the best ways to promote a website. Article marketing is relatively simple, extremely effective, and generally free (or at least very low cost).
There is one catch. For article marketing to work, your articles have to be accepted by the article directories you submit them to, and they have to be published by webmasters and eZine publishers.
As the owner of a popular article directory, ElectricText, I can tell you that there are 5 simple ways to avoid getting your articles rejected. Avoid these 5 things, and your article marketing will likely be highly successful.
1. Poor Writing
You don't have to be a great writer to get your articles accepted in most article directories. But you do have to be at least okay. Not everyone has natural writing talent. Don't be afraid to ask someone you know to review your articles and help you improve them.
2. Bad Grammar
Many people are not very good at grammar or are writing and submitting articles in a language (usually English) other than their own.
Article directories and publishers expect articles to be ready to publish, with no editing required. Minor issues may be overlooked, but when hundreds (or thousands) of article submissions are coming in per day, it's easiest to just reject articles with bad grammar.
This does not mean that you have to give up on article marketing if your grammar is not perfect or English is not your native language. Just find someone who can help edit your articles. Most articles that I have to reject for bad grammar could have been fixed with just 5 or 10 minutes of editing.
3. Badly Edited (Or Badly Spun) Articles
I am continually surprised to receive articles where the author obviously did not check the spelling or read through the copy before submitting it. Many articles that are otherwise quite well-written have a number of minor typos - misspelled words, missing words, etc. These are the sorts of errors that could have been caught by any word processor or even just reading the article before hitting send.
The advent of private label rights content and "article spinning" software has definitely increased this problem! What's article spinning? Many people buy the rights to articles written by others. Then they run them through special software that is supposed to randomly replace words and phrases, much like you might do manually with a thesaurus. Their idea is to improve their article marketing by submitting unique articles.
Unless you overdo this (see #4), there is really just one problem. Article spinning software often produces some rather clumsy wording. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether an article was written by a non-English speaker or by article spinning software.
In both cases, the fix is simple. Edit your articles manually before sending them, or have someone else edit them. Check your spelling and grammar. Read the article out loud to see if it flows. I see a lot of articles that probably would have been edited if anyone had tried to read them aloud before hitting send.
4. Duplicate (Or Almost-Duplicate) Articles
This one ties in with #3, as it seems to be largely a result of private label rights content and "article spinning" software. There are a few authors who constantly submit multiple copies of the same article with very slight differences.
I have literally had to ban authors from submitting articles after spending an hour or two per day for several days trying to weed out 5 or 6 unique articles from 50 or 100 duplicates. I quickly realized it just isn't worth it, as there are many other authors and articles to publish.
I guarantee that irritating editors and publishers and getting banned is just about the dumbest way to try to do article marketing!
5. Plagiarized Articles
I'm not sure which irritates me more: #4 or #5. I can't count the number of people who copy and paste articles right out of Wikipedia (an online collaborative encyclopedia), then submit them as their original work. Often they don't change anything! Yes, I realize that Wikipedia is "copyleft" not "copyright," but there are still rules.
There is nothing wrong with using Wikipedia as one of your sources - it's an excellent source. But use a few more sources too, then add your own original thoughts and put it all in your own words. Please.
There you have it, 5 ways to avoid rejection and succeed at article marketing. If you write and submit many articles and manage to avoid these 5 things, I think most of your articles will be accepted and you will be extremely successful in your article marketing.

Why it work...

Article directories, article

Article marketing focuses on article directories to expand reach and readability. Let's take a closer look at how it can work for you and your online business venture.

Article marketing has emerged as one of the best ways to propagate your website online. This low cost and highly effective tool has made even Fortune 500 companies include it in their marketing campaigns. Today there are thousands of article directories which freely accept articles from users.

Why it works

There are many reasons why even the big companies have turned to this fairly simple marketing tool. Most article directories accept article submissions free of cost. All you need to do it register and then start posting articles. It is also a great way to boost back links to your site. Usually all such directories have a resource box in which you can advertise your site and include a link back to the site. In this way you can increase the number of hits to your site in a very short time.

Trial and error

With article marketing you can afford to make mistakes without incurring losses. Since article directories are free of cost, even if you happen to submit the wrong article or place it in the wrong category, you can still improve on it and get better at it with trial and error. Thus this marketing tool provides for a great way to avoid risk and still not spend a dime. This is unlike other high cost alternatives like PPC or flash advertising which need a lot of investment.

Choose your niche

With article marketing you always have a choice to select the niche business segment of choice. Thus you could be focusing on a very select target segment which not many other providers have targeted. This way you can submit your articles to article directories and start to generate interest and reaction in this segment. Since the segment will be relatively new and untapped, you can expect to become a domain leader very soon.

Authority

Once you start submitting your articles to article directories on a regular basis you can transform the way people perceive your website. The fact that you are writing on a set of topics related to a particular theme and niche makes people online think of you as a subject matter expert of sorts. Thus people will turn to you for advice and recommendation when they need information on the same subject. Over an extended period of time such article directories will allow you to establish yourself and your business as a domain expert. What this means for your business is more customers and more sales.

Interesting topics

The kind of topics you write on can largely affect the popularity and sales of your business online. Usually customers like to read about informative articles which educate them. Thus topics which begin with 'how to' or 'great tips' or '10 best ways' etc. are bound to get you more attention. By submitting such articles to article directories you can greatly enhance the appeal and popularity of your site online. Then the sky is the limit and you can enjoy endless possibilities in your business.

Article Directory Website Design: Clean Up Your Content!

Article directories have taken the internet by storm. That is a good thing, as it allows authors to distribute their content and allows publishers to grab content for their website, but unfortunately, many article directories are offering a huge disservice to authors and publishers due to poorly designed directories. Listen up article directory owners; let's think about some ways to serve our visitors in our article directory designing!
Style Elements
I have stumbled across many article directory websites where there are a number of mixed alignings, ten different color combinations, excessive bold and italicized fonts, and numerous style "enhancements". While these different design elements can be good, there comes a time when, as the webmaster, we need to be okay with simplifying the visual end. When a visitor enters your directory, or website for that matter, their eyes cannot help but to expect unity and clarity. If they are presented with a jumbled, disorganized mess, they will do one of two things. They will either (1) quickly jerk the mouse to the back button or (2) continue to browse your site but grow frustrated from the chaotic presentation and then eventually leave. You obviously want to prevent both of those things from happening.
When applying style elements such as colors, size, and images, we need to make sure these things help bring the visitor in contact with the content and message of the website. There comes a time when a line is crossed between beneficial and distracting. I have visited some article directories in which images and graphics push the navigation bar down the page. You do not want to have your visitor scroll down the page to have to find where click to other portions of your site. Make it easy on your visitor to get around your directory. Keep your navigation bar towards the top of your site. If your visitor does not know how to get around your article directory they will get frustrated and leave. Bring your visitor in contact with the content!
To expound more on the use of font colors and styling, remember to maintain consistency. Choose three or four colors to create a color scheme for your article directory. Stick with this color scheme. This provides unity in your content and makes the visitors viewing experience a lot more pleasurable. Continually ask yourself the question, "Is my article directory home page easy to read? Is it organized? Is the directory inviting?"
Advertisements and Images
As the webmaster of your article directory or web content site, it is obvious and understandable that it is a must to push your ads and affiliate programs so you can generate income. However, do keep in mind while placing your ads that you want your visitor to receive your web site's content. Your visitor wants to find valuable information. That is why they visit your website. They do not come for the ads! Understanding that, make sure your ads relate and apply to your directory's content. It is vital that your ads do not block your website's content. Integrate your ads so they do not intrude on your website content.
Before you start plastering your article directory with ads and "cool" styling, keep it mind that your website's content is first and for most. Overall, people are coming for your content—they could care less if you used pastel pink or neon green!

Article Marketing - Answering the Three Big Questions

Article Marketing - Answering the Three Big Questions

The Internet is crying out for content. There are billions of web pages with millions more being created every day. And every single one of them needs to have something to say - some content to attract visitors.

Article marketing is a branch of Internet marketing that focuses entirely on providing that content. Many people make good money online simply by writing a few articles on a regular basis.

So what is article marketing for, is it as easy as they say and what kind of results can you expect?

Big questions, but I'll do my best to answer them as comprehensively as possible.

What Does Article Marketing Entail?

Article marketing can be as simple as writing a series of articles to put on your own blog or website. If you've ever written a blog post that ran to more than a few hundred words, you've done it already. That is fine, as far as it goes, but why go to all that effort of writing something to only use it once?

Article marketing is about leveraging the effort you've put into creating an article in the first place and getting as much benefit from it as possible.

You do that by syndicating your article for other people to use, with the condition that every time they publish it on their website, they also include a resource box that you specify. That resource box will usually include a link back to a website, or product offering of your choice.

Syndication of your work is easy: there are hundreds of article directories on the Internet who are happy for you to post your work. EzineArticles is perhaps the biggest and best known, but there are many, many more that you can use. The article directories serve two purposes for article marketers: they are a central source for website builders to go to to find content, and they are also quickly indexed by search engines so you'll get backlinks even if nobody else uses your work.

Is Article Marketing as Easy as They Say?

For some people, writing articles is very easy, but for others it can be a chore. Fortunately, like any other skill you need to learn in Internet marketing, the more you practice, the easier it gets.

The trick is to discover what kind of articles are the easiest for you.

The best articles for beginners to write are how-to and tips articles. Both formats start out by identifying a commonly asked question, such as 'how can I stop my dog barking?' or 'what's the best way to make money online?' and provides an answer.

The how-to format is very straightforward - the article would start with a paragraph that expands on the question, move on to four or five paragraphs that explains the solution and ends with a paragraph that sums up both question and answer.

To write a tips article, on the other hand, you would first research 3 or 5 solutions and then, instead of the 4-5 paragraphs in the middle of the how-to article that explains just one solution, you'd have a separate paragraph - perhaps as bullet points - for each tip. The intro and outro paragraphs would be very similar to the how-to ones.

Once you've written your article (allow anywhere from one to two hours for each one until you get more proficient) your main job is then to get it onto as many article directories as possible. Although you can do this by hand, it takes a lot of time so I would strongly recommend using one of the many article submission services who will do the job for you.

What Kind of Results Can Article Marketers Expect?

The answer to this question depends on how much work you are prepared to put into it.

Frankly, if all you do is write one article a month and submit it to just one or two directories, your results will be very poor.

Professional article marketers write a lot of articles and build up a big online presence for their body of work over time. That can bring them a huge number of backlinks to websites of their choice, a constant flow of traffic to their money sites and, most importantly, a stream of income that once started, is almost impossible to turn off.

In summary, article marketing is a very effective branch of online marketing that can bring excellent results for those who have the writing skills and the determination to build a big body of work online. It is unlikely that any individual article will make very much impact on its own, but 200 or more scattered over the Internet can bring many long term rewards.

Article Marketing - A Newbies Guide To Article Marketing

Article Marketing - A Newbies Guide To Article Marketing

Article Marketing is one of the most important tactics involved in internet marketing. The benefits of article marketing are many and it's not too difficult to make it a part of your internet marketing strategy. Read on to find out about things to take into account when attempting to incorporate article marketing into your overall online strategy.

article marketing, article writting, free traffic, web traffic, seo, ppc

Article marketing is one of the absolute basics of internet marketing. Having articles all over the internet is a marketing method which enables you to invest some time and effort right now and reap the benefits for years to come. This article will explore some of the advantages of article marketing and its subtleties in order to help internet marketers to use it to their best advantage.

Anyone who's been doing internet marketing for a while knows that writing articles is imperative to the success of one's online campaigns. Having articles in various article directories is a great way of providing links back to your site, thus building your site's popularity. When a page has many links back to it it helps to attain good positioning in the search engines. An article directory which has a high page rank is the best place to submit articles to as this helps to boost your page's rank.

Bear in mind that people take articles they enjoy and publish them in their ezines and on their websites, further providing you, the author, with more back links and publicity.

When you have articles of your own posted in article directories you can slowly establish your name as an expert in your niche. People will be more apt to trust your recommendations.

Although it may be tempting to write a bunch of articles in one day and submit them to a few directories, exercise caution with this. Why is that? Because Google is quite sensitive about a sudden surge in traffic to a link. Although we would all love a sudden surge in traffic, it may cause Google to de-index your site in order to look in to the reason for the sudden popularity of your site. It's better to submit articles every couple of days.

In the process of article marketing, don't submit an article that is already on your own website. It may be considered duplicate content and you don't want that! Google would consider the site which is higher ranking to be the originator of the article (the article directory) and your site's page rank may suffer.

Don't submit PLR articles without making changes!! There is so much PLR available today (free and otherwise) and it is very tempting to just grab it and use it. Don't do it. The purpose of these articles is to provide you with a basis for an article. Read it and rewrite it in your own words. Duplicate articles could be rejected by the article directories and the directories may just decide to ban your account.

Try to use good keywords in your article's title and also in the beginning of the first paragraph. Sprinkle your chosen keyword all over the article as well.

Most article directories allow you to use hyperlinks. For sophisticated and efficient article marketing try to use anchor text that relates to the keywords you are targeting. This will help you attain a better position in the SERP's (search engine result pages). If you are targeting the word "gardening tips" make sure to hyperlink to your website from each mention of the term in your article. This will help your gardening site be higher in the search results for the term "gardening tips".

Try to remember that people will be reading your article. Make it readable for them and don't just concentrate on the density of your keywords. If people don't enjoy reading the article, they won't bother reaching the end of it, which is where you will lead them to your site from the ever-important resource box!

In summary, article marketing is a very important, even critical, element of internet marketing. Every internet marketer should be making the effort to become proficient in article marketing and learning how to write decent quality articles in as little time as possible. It will bring in terrific long term results.

Happy writing!

Article Marketing - Correlating Revenue To The Articles You Write

Article Marketing - Correlating Revenue To The Articles You Write

If you are involved in writing or using articles to establish your credentials to share skills and knowledge to a broader internet community, it may be time to pause for a while and to consider to what extent this activity of article marketing is bringing in revenue to your online efforts. Just how is that done?

correlating revenue to article marketing, charting revenue against articles, article marketing, article promotion, statistics, testing

If you are involved in writing or using articles to establish your credentials to share skills and knowledge to a broader internet community, it may be time to pause for a while and to consider to what extent this activity of article marketing is bringing in revenue to your online efforts.
While article marketing is a function of many factors that may not lend itself to an exact computation of benefits in monetary terms, we cannot run away from the fact that when it comes to profitabilty of any online business, we have to think in terms of dollars and cents.
This is where statistics play a big part in correlating revenue to the articles we write.
Is it possible, for example, to project revenue to the number of articles we write, as there are factors peculiar only to the particular author that are not common to any other individual?
This is where the use of simple mathematics is helpful in our quest to correlate revenue to the articles we write.
Over a period of time of say 6 months, an author of various articles can actually keep a graph of revenue derived from article writing with the "y" axis as Revenue and the "x" axis of the graph as the number of articles written, each time keeping the number of article depositories to which the article was submitted at a constant figure.
In this particular case, say for example if you are marketing these articles to the article depositories such as ezinearticles.com or goarticles.com, your revenue that goes to the "y" axis is the payout derived from Google Adsense for the month by using solely article marketing alone, and the "x" axis will be the number of articles you have submitted.
Over the period of 6 months, you will have sufficient data on the graph for which you can draw a best fit curve or applying the principles of linear regression to form a straight line that goes through most of these points on the graph where the line is represented by the equation y=mx+c
The function of the regressed straight line will indicate that the revenue derived is a function of "m" which is the gradient or slope of the line, and a constant "c".
The constant "c" is the value where the straight line cuts the "y" axis and this is the particular part which stems from the individual and is a representation of his abilities in writing, his style of writing, his command of the language and factors that only the individual possesses.
By doing a correlation study between the revenue obtained and the number of articles submitted in article marketing, keeping other factors constant as far as possible, it will be possible to gauge the quality of the author's writing. It will also be possible to form a rough basis to project further revenue to the number of articles planned for submission, ignoring other factors such as keyword selection, onsite and offsite search engine optimisation which are not included in the study, and only on the basis of the individual writing "flair" and abilities as measured by the constant "c".
While this is by no means exact and is an approximation, keeping statistics and charts like these serves a useful function in helping the marketer to identify sudden trend changes, especially where performance or revenue suddenly falls from the norm ( or the mean ).
He can then study what has led to this deviation from the mean and why. Charting these details will make any change very apparent which may be missed otherwise.
While it is common for an internet marketer to use software scripts to track his earnings from Google Adsense, for example, most scripts do not lend themselves to this particular graphical analysis as explained. It is when the charting is done by hand, albeit in such a simple way, that the internet marketer is sensitive enough and alert to any sudden changes or is able to consider what factor to change in his article writing to derive more revenue.
He can go deeper to ask this question: " Since the revenue is directly proportional to the slope of the revenue line, what factors will change the slope?".
Knowing these factors, he can vary them and test out his changes.
By correlating revenue to the number of articles written, the internet marketer has a way to project profitability, no matter how rough. He has on his hands a set of statistics that he can use for further research and analysis, or in marketing terms "testing".

Article Marketing - How Article Marketing Can Bring You Free Traffic

For a long time now there has been a lot of buzz in the online world about article marketing, but I am still frequently asked what it is and how it works. Here is a brief explanation. Like any large medium, the internet is hungry for content.
However, unlike other media outlets such as TV, radio and newspapers, which generally only use content from professional writers, on the internet, anyone can publish. Article marketing is a way of taking advantage of that freedom and using the medium as a way to bring visitors to your website or blog. So, how does it work?
You write an article. A typical article for web consumption will be between 250 and 750 words long. It will be carefully focused round a specific area of expertise; the writer's niche. It will use keywords relevant to the writer's intended audience and often it will contain a numbered or bulleted list for clarity and ease of reading. You publish that article on the web. There are now hundreds of article directories, where any writer can publish almost any article. Most are free to use, but some more specialized ones charge a small fee. One of the biggest free directories is EzineArticles.com which carries the work of nearly 70,000 writers. The directories are organized into multiple categories and the article writer must decide which category to publish under. You are also encouraged to attach a group of relevant keywords to your article and to include your personal or business details and a link to your site, in your 'resource box', which is a brief paragraph about you or your work which will appear at the bottom of every article. The directories employ a team of staff to approve each article before it becomes available on the web.
So how does this drive traffic? Firstly, the directories, being very content rich, have high rankings in the search engines and often your article may be spotted there and an interested reader might click on your link and come through to your website.
However, the real purpose of the directories is to provide a place for e-zine publishers to find free and relevant content. Every day, editors of a huge range of subject specific e-zines, visit the article directories and download new articles that are relevant to their audience. This saves them writing it themselves. The only stipulation made is that they must publish the article in full, without editing and always include the author's resource box and retain the links intact.
So over a period, a single article can easily, be found in many different places on the web, each time with a valuable back link to your website, which not only leads highly targeted visitors to you but also helps to improve your search rankings.

Article Marketing - Learn How To Use It And Boost Your Sales And Serps

Article Marketing - Learn How To Use It And Boost Your Sales And Serps

Article marketing is about much more than just writing articles, submitting them, and hoping for traffic - learn about the big picture, why it all works, right here, right now!

article writting, seo, search engine optimisation, affiliate, serps

Understanding the Big Picture

My guess is that by now, you are starting to see the big picture with article marketing. Whether you are attempting to increase your search engine rankings by submitting to multiple directories, or you are looking to increase you direct traffic, article marketing is powerful.

Even if you are not focusing on search engine rankings, generally you should find that as you article market, your websites will become more popular. They will naturally receive more backlinks and traffic, and generally your search engine ranking will go up, even without any special emphasis on it.

One of the powerful things about article marketing, especially if you are building a list, is that subscribers who come to you after reading one of your articles tend to buy more than subscribers who come to you from many other traffic sources. Generally, when someone subscribes to your list after reading one or several of your articles, they already are beginning to trust you, and might buy from you sooner than someone who needs to read several emails from you and perhaps communicate online before they will purchase. Article writing simply provides a unique opportunity for you too attract subscribers to your list who have a prequalified interest and trust in you.

Maintaining Patience as it All Comes Together

When you first get started with article marketing, things will probably move slowly for you. One of the things that happen with article marketing is an exponential effect. When you have only 3 articles written, you are not going to have a flood of traffic. But if you write and submit a few articles a day for several weeks or months, you will begin to experience an incredible effect, and it will all become worthwhile. Remember, you will continue to receive the effects of articles you have written for as long as they are online and published. So when you have 10 articles or 100 articles online, you will have 10 times or 100 times the traffic that you will receive after the first article.

It is easy to become discouraged when you have written just a few articles, and your revenue is not consistent with the time you put into article writing and submission.

In fact, I will go so far as to say, if you are only going to write a few articles and then quit, you might as well not write or submit any articles. Article marketing is extremely powerful, but it is most powerful when there is a cumulative effect, and that cumulative effect takes time and multiple articles and submissions.

Article Marketing - The Bad, The unsightly, and The Good

Article Marketing - The Bad, The unsightly, and The Good

When most people think of Article Marketing, what comes to mind is usually how to write the article rather then how to market it. But there is anthor way and I will show you in this article.

email marketing

When most people think of Article Marketing, what comes to mind is usually how to write the article rather then how to market it. But there is anthor way and I will show you in this article.
The latest rage seems to be Article marketing and with good reason. It's by far the best free means of promoting your business and increasing your sales and opt in subscribers.
By submitting your articles to article directories, article announcement lists, and ezine publishers, you achieve several things.
First, you establish yourself as an expert in your field. Readers are more likely to listen to you if they feel you know what you are talking about.
Second, by attaching a resource box to your article, you are giving the reader a link to your website. If the reader is impressed with your knowledge, they will probable click on your link to see what it is that you are offering.
Third, you increase your search engine page rank by providing a non-reciprocal link to your website. Search engines seem to give extra weight to non-reciprocal links in their page rankings.
But many marketers are not comfortable writing their own articles. They just do not understand how to put their thoughts into words. Or worse yet, they do not have any thoughts merit printing.
That is why private label articles are in such high demand these days. There are several of these services available and more seem to be popping up every day.
Therein lies the problem. Depending on how these articles are used, the results can be good, bad, or downright unsightly.
The Bad: A everyday mistake made by marketers using private label articles is getting lazy. They merely copy and paste the article and submit it, as is, with no personalization.
At the very least, you should change the title. Most article directories require that your article be approved before they are posted. But do you actually think they read every article that comes in? Not likely.
They get dozens, even hundreds of submissions every day, so it's unlikely that your article will really be read.
But most directory software will automatically search their database for duplicate titles. If the title of your article matches one in their database, yours will be rejected.
So do yourself a favor and at the very least, change the title. It might also be a good idea to change the wording in the first paragraph.
The unsightly: Many marketers load so many links in their article that it becomes one long ad. This will not only get you rejected, but ultimately banned if you do it frequently enough.
The Good: As stated previously, private label articles, when used correctly, can give the non-writer a big superiority over other marketers. They can increase your traffic, sales, and opt in subscribers. That is good.
A good article contains useful knowledge to the reader whether they buy your products or not. Present to them good content and you will increase the chances that they will click your link in the resource box.
Private label articles are a great tool, but do not get lazy!

Article Marketing and Content Cheapskates

Article Marketing and Content Cheapskates

I see this everywhere and still cannot believe that people do not get it. Content is still king on the web. The most important thing you will ever do for your website is to put in good content. Great content will get you links and your position in the search engine results will be because of the content you put into your website.

article, article marketing, marketing, design, content

I see this everywhere and still cannot believe that people do not get it. Content is still king on the web. The most important thing you will ever do for your website is to put in good content. Great content will get you links and your position in the search engine results will be because of the content you put into your website.

Hundreds of back links will not get you ranked well with poor content. Great content will get you good keyword positioning with or without back links, therefore, content is still the most important aspect of your website. Great design, flash, graphics, and a cool banner will not get you ranked well for your keywords and phrases. Great content will!

Let's first look at the content in your website. Images are great with alt tags. That helps. But it is the text on the pages that, when done correctly, will help your search engine results. This text is also what will convert your customers into sales.

This text is what your customers will read or not read based on it's quality. This same text is what the search engines will analyze when they decide how relevant your WebPages are to the search phrase you wish them to send you visitors from.

Now, let us talk about article marketing. If you know about article marketing at all, you know you will be submitting articles all over the web. The links in the author bio at the bottom return visitors to your website if they read and like the articles, you write or have written for you.

Just having your articles in thousands of article directories is not the goal of article marketing, although there are article-marketing gurus out there who think it is. The goal is for webmasters to find those articles and place them in their blogs and websites. If they use your article, their website or blog is likely related to the same topic as your website.

You are looking for these quality links. The links for just being in the article directories do not hurt you, but they do not help nearly as much as those from related websites do.

Your other hope is that thousands of people read your articles. Do you really want people to read poorly written articles and associate that poor quality with your website? Well-written articles get people to read them all the way to the bottom where your links are located. Well-written articles reflect well on your website.

If the articles are of great quality then likely your products and services must be great as well. The reverse is also true in the reader's minds. If the articles are written poorly, then likely your products and services are of little or no value as well. It is not only about the number of keywords and phrases placed into the article folks.

With all of that being said, I still find all over the web, especially at freelancer websites, people going in and saying things like; "I need 400 articles written for SEO and I'm willing to pay $1.50 per article." Or they say something like; "I need someone to write content for my website and I'm only willing to pay $10 per page."

I really try to refrain from telling people they are, well . . . stupid, but I am finding it harder and harder each day when I read this stuff.

They will spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to have their website designed so it looks really pretty, but the text, the stuff that will actually get good search engine results and sales, they don't want to spend any money on.

Writers that know how to write text that not only is appealing to the reader, but that is also written with the keywords and phrases in mind, are worth being paid well. The moment you start hiring better writers and paying for text that converts sales, you will begin to be successful on the web. That cheap content is not going to make you any money.

A website that is beautiful but gets no traffic and sales may as well be an ugly website. An ugly website that ranks well in the search engine and that makes sales gets more beautiful by the dollar.

Search engine optimization (SEO) mainly deals with what's called on-page optimization – placing keywords and phrases in different areas and in the code of a webpage. On-page SEO is great for letting Google and the other search engines know what your website is about, but it's also vital to let them know how important your website is. You can accomplish this through a broader branch of online promotion call search engine marketing. One area of search engine marketing is article writing and syndication, and it works wonders for building backlinks to your website, as well as providing good content for your website's visitors.

There are many great reasons to start writing articles and syndicating them, but there are three major reasons. The most obvious reason for writing articles is to fill your website with relevant and informative content. Visitors to your website are looking for information. By adding articles to your website you are adding value to their experience and they are more likely to return and tell others about the wealth of information available on your site. Another great reason for writing your own content deals more with search engine optimization – search engines will deem your website more important if it's full of original and relevant content. The last reason deals with link building. By submitting your article to an article syndication site, you make the article available for other website owners to include on their website, and in return they provide a link back to your website.

Content Is King

Given the advent of social bookmarking websites such as Digg.com and Del.icio.us, Internet search is depending more and more upon the preferences of real Internet surfers.
In the old days it was easy to make the search engines "think" that your website was important, but these days, actual people will play an increasing role in determining how "good" your website is. It makes sense too – if a few hundred Internet users think that your website is a wonderful resource for information, it probably is. Google and the others will increasingly pay more attention to these social bookmarking sites to identify important websites. So for the future of SEO, it's important that your website have good content.

Search Engines like Fresh Original Content

Google and the other search engines have the ability to determine whether a block of text is original, or has been copied from another website. When search engines crawl your website and find new original content, it shows that the site is updated regularly, not neglected, and that a lot of time went into creating the website, rather than cutting and pasting text from other sites. This is one of the ways the search engines determine if you have a "good" website. Typically, a website with a lot of relevant, original and frequently updated content should do well in the search engine results.

Article Syndication and Link Building

After you've written your article and posted it on your website, you can take further advantage of the article by letting other website owners use it as content on their website as well. This is accomplished by submitting your article to an article directory. These directories operate much like a normal website directory, but instead of listing websites they list articles. Just perform a search for "article directory" and you are bound to find hundreds of these sites. Website owners are allowed to use your article on their website as long as they include a resource box at the bottom of the article that gives you credit and also provides a link back to your website. Building backlinks to your website is one of the more important factors of search engine marketing because the search engines figure that, the more websites that link to you, the more important your website must be.

Optimizing Your Article for the Search Engines

Part of search engine optimization includes using related keywords and phrases, not only on your website, but also on webpages that link to you. Be sure to include your keywords or key terms as many times as possible in the article, but don't overdo it or your article won't sound natural. When search engines index your article and find a link to your website, they will associate your website with the content of the article.

The Resource Box

The resource box is the last part of the article that includes the author's information and a link back to their website. This piece of information is important because, after all, the whole point of article syndication is to get backlinks to your website. Just including your website's URL is fine but it's best to use something called anchor text. Anchor text is the clickable text that brings your from one webpage or website to another. Using your website's name is fine too, but you should try to include your top keyword or phrase in the link. This is an extremely important SEO technique because the search engines place a lot of value on anchor text when determining search results. Some people will recommend putting anchor text in the body of your article. While the search engines may like this strategy, to humans it just looks "spammy" and your article won't get picked up by any reputable websites.

Duplicate Content & the Value of Your Article

It makes sense that if we want other websites to list your articles and provide a link back to your site, then you should submit your articles to as many sites as possible. This seems like a logical strategy, and there are actually many article submission services available on the Internet that will submit your article to 400 or more article directories. There is a problem with this approach, though. Although you may gain a whole bunch of backlinks to your website, Google will probably flag your article as duplicate content, and it will in turn carry much less value. In other words, as more and more websites post your article its value is being diluted. Plus, important and respected publications don't want to use content that is posted on another 100 or so websites. One backlink from a respected source with high Page Rank is sometimes worth a 100 backlinks from smaller site with little or no page rank. So, it's probably a good strategy to only submit your article to 5 or so article directories – the top 5 in Google search will probably do.

The Best Strategy

If you have the time and inclination, you can get more out of article marketing by posting the original copy of the article on your website, and then re-writing a copy for the purpose of syndication. This way, your website won't get penalized for duplicate content. From here, it's really your choice if you'd like to submit your article to 400 directories and get as many backlinks as possible, or focus on getting your article included in more respected publications and receive higher quality backlinks. Personally, I prefer the latter, but the choice is yours. Good luck!

Ever wondered how internet marketing worked? How does anybody who is into internet marketing inform his potential customers that he exists? And how do customers who are looking for something specific, know where to look for it? Given the sheer profusion of pages on the internet, this can be a herculean task for both the buyer as well as the seller.

Internet marketing is all about catching the 'eye of the spider'. 'Spiders' are ingenious little devices that search all the pages of the World Wide Web looking for those pages that are most relevant to the search term that the internet user has entered. Not only do spiders find the appropriate pages, but they also rank these pages in order of relevance, making it easier for the user to find what he is looking for. Goes without saying, anybody looking for something would first click on the page that is right on top of the list. If he finds what he is looking for, that's it- he looks no further. It is only if he does not find what he wants that he will then go down the list of pages that the spiders have ranked in decreasing order of relevance. The key then, is to make sure your website is ranked right up there above all others that have the same keyword.

Here are a few tips on how you can use article marketing to catch the eye of that all-important spider and get your website ranked right up there, where it can be seen by millions of users.

Make sure your article content is original

Spiders never forget! They memorize every article they have ever crawled over. If they come across a similar article during subsequent searches they immediately pick it out as a plagiarized copy. Instead of the brownie points you would expect to win for featuring valuable content on your web site, your web site would get penalized for featuring copied content. It is critical to make sure that your article content is always original.

Post your original articles on your own website first

By posting your original content on your own website before distributing it to other sites, you stake a claim to your article, and prevent those spiders from penalizing it for duplication. Also, when the spider picks up your article during a search, if the article is posted on your website, it will lead the reader straight to your site circumventing the round-about route.

Embed those keywords and keyword phrases

Using appropriate keywords and keyword phrases throughout your article while maintaining optimum keyword density, is critical. Proper keywords used correctly helps spiders index your website and leverages your search engine optimization. It is important to remember that proper usage of keywords and keyword phrases is critical. Keywords that are randomly placed throughout the article, known as keyword stuffing, will only help get your article disqualified and penalized by search engines. And if your article that is unintelligently keyword stuffed, does get past the search engines, your site visitors will be none too impressed with the quality of your articles and will almost certainly turn away. Once this happens, it is almost impossible to lure them back again.

Increase your link popularity

Spiders determine the popularity and relevancy of your website by the quality and quantity of inbound hyperlinks from other websites to yours. Include an "About the Author" section with a link to your website in every author resource box at the end of your article. It is obligatory for other websites to include this section if they decide to publish your article on their site. This in itself will guarantee you unlimited free publicity. If your article is informative and interesting, and is placed on several sites, you would automatically get plenty of links pointing back to your site. This is guaranteed to catch the eye of the spider and increase your search engine ranking.

Maximize your exposure through article distribution sites

By submitting your articles to large distributions sites such as GoArticles.com or eZine.com you increase the chances of your article being repurposed by other webmasters who are continuously seeking quality content. This can have a kind of viral effect and send a continuous stream of significant traffic towards the direction of your articles.

Persistence pays

Writing just one article, no matter how good, is not enough to get you the desired results. Catching the eye of the spider takes time. To reap the benefits of article marketing requires time and patience as well as the unswerving commitment to generate and disseminate good quality articles consistently. This is what will create a valuable footprint in your field of expertise and help increase the number of back-links to your site.

Maintain that word count

Most websites will only accept and distribute articles that meet their specified article requirements with regard to minimum and maximum length. As a rule, articles should be no more than 500 words and no less than 300 words.

Article Marketing Blog Share In The Wealth

Article Marketing Blog Share In The Wealth

An article marketing blog that will bring you great amounts of success is easy to make if you use it correctly. An article marketing blog is easy to put together but what will make it successful is getting content put on it. Getting content for your blog isn't enough, though. You have to get traffic for it. For an article marketing blog content is king but what gives that king his power is the traffic that comes to read it. Get the people to your article marketing blog and get them coming back.

Article writing blogs can get their content from many different sources. You can, of course, write all of your content but you can have it written for you as well. That is where hiring a ghost writer can come in handy. There are other sources for content, though.

If you choose to write your own content, first make sure that it uses keywords that will help get it picked up on search engines. As far as finding things to write about, follow top news stories related to your particular industry or product or service. Also consider industry news sources and use social bookmarking services to find out what the hot topics are for the moment and just comment on them. Also consider looking at the hottest websites pertaining to your blog and find out what is drawing the most attention and check out what is generating the most traffic on search engines relating to your field. Follow trends and comment on what you find. Your article marketing blog will be riding a wave of popularity.

Many will make use of PLR articles in their article marketing blogs. You can find affordable articles usually as a group and can make even that stretch by breaking it up into different parts.

Another option that people use is RSS feeds. This is an easy way to get content to your article marketing blog because it is automatically updated with content.

One thing that you always need to be doing is making sure that there is something in the article that is posted that will make it seen by search engines. This is why it is usually best to have some control over what is being posted rather than relying solely on automation. Articles are many times written just for the reader when they should just as much be written for the search engines. Make sure that it is keyword rich so that it will help those looking for information that you have find it.

Another thing that will help generate traffic and help those looking for information find you is to make use of the different article directories. Find those ones that the search engines love and use them. Make sure you read all the rules and that you create the ideal article for their standards. This will help give you links to your article marketing blog and will draw in those people who will keep coming back to your blog weekly or even daily.
